Chemistry and Physics Transfer Credit

Below is the process for evaluating transfer credit for foundational science coursework in chemistry and physics. Since the evaluation of these courses may affect your schedule of classes during your upcoming term of enrollment, it is important that you submit your course materials well in advance of your orientation or enrollment appointment.

Chemistry Transfer Credit Evaluation

  • Run a Transfer Credit Report and review your credit. If any courses transferred to OSU as Chemistry General (G000.XX), Technical (T000.XX) or Special (S000.XX) credit, you will need to have these courses evaluated by the OSU Department of Chemistry.
  • Collect a course syllabus, which includes the tile and author of the textbook, of the chemistry course(s) you completed at another institution and want evaluated.
  • Follow these instructions on submitting a chemistry course for evaluation.

Physics Transfer Credit Evaluation

  • Run a Transfer Credit Report and review your credit. If any courses transferred to OSU as Physics General (G000.XX), Technical (T000.XX) or Special (S000.XX) credit, you will need to have these courses evaluated by the OSU Department of Physics.
  • Collect a course syllabus, which includes the tile and author of the textbook used and a detailed list of topics covered, of the physics course(s) you completed at another institution and want evaluated.
  • Send your course materials and a copy of your Transfer Credit Report to Dr. Mike Ziegler, Physics Transfer Credit Coordinator:
    • Email: ziegler.2@osu.edu
    • Office: 1036 Smith Labs, 174 W. 18th Avenue, Columbus OH 43210
    • Phone: 614-292-2067call 614-292-6009 to schedule an appointment.
